Best Price West Palm Beach vs Ft. Lauderdale???

Will be in FL mid-January and have the option of staying in either area. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions about pricing , personal experience or ??

Thanks,

It depends, do you want to stay on the beach or stay inland? West Palm is inland. The Palm Beach beaches are Palm Beach, Hobe Sound, Singer Island, etc.

Ft. Lauderdale beaches Ft. Lauderdale, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Hollywood Beach, Dania, etc.

What is your budget? Cheap? Moderate? Expensive? Superlux?

I guess what I'm saying is that your question is so broad, it is hard to answer.

Are you cruising or is this a land vacation?

Our favorite hotel in Fort Lauderdale is Ireland's Inn.

For us, it has it all!

There are several categories to choose from.

The newer building is several stories high. The rooms are newer, modern, have spectacular views of the ocean, and are priced right. They have a new pool if you don't want to swim in the ocean.

The older south building is a three story building. The bottom floor has two or three rooms literally on the beach and they include a covered patio complete with your own palm tree. You walk three short steps to the hotels' private beach. The upstairs rooms have balconies which look directly onto the Atlantic. The rooms are older, but they are large and open directly to the beach. The rooms also have a small round table and chairs, a microwave, and a small frig. They also open up to a small swimming pool. These rooms usually cost less than the main hotel.

The hotel has an award winning restaurant, again with ocean views.

But our favorite part is their cafe on the beach. The prices are very inexpensive, the food is fresh (including the fish) and the quantity and quality are great! The drinks are also very good. There's nothing like watching the ocean while dining.

You can park for free.

You can walk a few blocks to catch the Intercoastal Waterway boats too.

If you want a relaxing hotel on the beach, this may the be the one for you.

Good luck and enjoy your stay.

Karen:rolleyes:
