Skagway vs Sitka and Glacier Bay vs Hubbard

Am in a dilemma. Looking to book a southbound HAL cruisetour next July. Depending on the date and tour - its Glacier Bay and Sitka vs Skagway,Sitka and Hubbard Glacier. Everyone say how beautiful Glacier Bay is. Any opinions as to forsaking Glacier to visit Skagway and is Sitka a better stop than Skagway?

Any Alaska trip is a compromise and both are great choices. I do give an edge to Glacier Bay however. More important- be very educated about your tour purchase and understand fully distances and activities available.

Really love Glacier Bay over Hubbard.

i would vote for Glacier Bay, although Hubbard Glacier is beautiful.

We are planning a cruise in the summer of 2006 and we are seriously considering a Glacier Cruise on Princess. I would like to know if there is a lot of calving in Glacier Bay. I understand there is at the Hubbard Glacier, however I also understand it continues to surge forward causing problems at times for the cruise ships to get close. Does anyone have an answer?

On AVERAGE- Hubbard is more active with calving than Glacier Bay glaciers.
