Thank you for your e-mail and interest in Boatswain’s Beach, the new home of the Cayman Turtle Farm.

The Cayman Turtle Farm component of Boatswain’s Beach is open and includes the Breeding Pond, with our magnificent turtles aging 16 to 72 and weighing between 300 to 600 pounds. It also features touch tanks, providing a great photo opportunity as our yearlings can be held for picture taking and is the highlight of the Park. There is also an Iguana Hut and our new feature a 3ft caiman, a member of the crocodilian family. The Turtle Crawl Deli, our 3,500 square foot Retail gift store, and Shopping Arcade are also open at this time for your enjoyment.

As of July 15th 2006 Boatswain’s Beach features the Turtle Farm as well as new attractions Breaker’s Lagoon, and Breaker’s Snack Shack. Visitors can now enjoy a refreshing, cool dip in the ever inviting Breaker’s fresh water tidal lagoon and enjoy a scrumptious meal at Breaker’s Snack Shack. Items on the menu include Jerk Chicken and Pork, hamburgers, sandwiches, and desserts amongst other delights.

The cost to visit Boatswain’s Beach as of July 15th will be US$20.00 for children 2-12 and US$35.00 for adults; children under 2 have free entry in to the park.

September 2006 will also introduce additional features such as the Boatswain’s Snorkel Lagoon filled with thousands of reef fish for a superior snorkeling experience, the Blue Hole nature trail, a beautiful free-flight bird aviary, a predator tank which can be viewed from either lagoon, a Caymanian streetscape with local artisans, musicians and storytellers, a shore-line nursery, as well as Schooner’s Bar and Grill.

The cost to visit Boatswain’s Beach as of September 2006 will be US$25.00 for children 2-12, US$60.00 for adults and children under 2 will enter the park for free.

Please note that there is no specific date for the introduction of the additional features in September, as dates are subject to change due to inclement weather.

At this time we do not offer shuttle service to Boatswain’s Beach from the Port; this service will be in place by the end of this year.

Taxis are readily available from the taxi stand at the cruise ship dock, and offer a fixed rate per vehicle or per person. The cost of a taxi from George Town to Boatswain’s Beach is CI$ 16.00/US$ 20.00 up to three people (subject to change). This Taxi can also provide you round trip service back to the Port. The length of travel is dependent on traffic and may take approximately 15-30 minutes.

We are looking forward to seeing you here in the near future."
