chp3ril Posted August 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2006 I had this post about a week ago and now it's gone. The question was I have a 14 year old Son should he wear a tie on Fromal night or not?

irishnyc Posted August 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2006 A tie is formal. No tie would not be formal.
Deborito Posted August 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2006 I think he should dress up, including a tie. It won't kill him, and it will make for a nice photo op. Kids have so few reasons to dress up anymore remember to tell him how handsome he looks.
mferranti Posted August 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2006 remember to tell him how handsome he looks. Better yet, get a 14-year-old girl to tell him.

la_croisiere_s'amuse Posted August 5, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 5, 2006 Better yet, get a 14-year-old girl to tell him. Smashing idea. :D Yes, he should wear a tie. Our teenage boys (14 and 16 at the time) wore them for formal night, and they would have looked out of place if they didn't, IMO. Besides, it's good practice for proms and job interviews and all that stuff. :)
hstrybuf Posted August 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 5, 2006 Yes. He's 14 and way beyond old enough to be wearing a tie in a formal situation. Besides, the girls will love him for it! ;)
