counsdr Posted August 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2006 I really need a cruise, but i'm not having any luck in finding one without a huge supplement. I'm limited to the week of Aug. 26th, 2006. Anybody have any ideas for me? I'm willing to do a share, i'm just not willing to pay double.
Rare Roz Posted August 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2006 August is still peak season for families with children that don't go back to school until after Labor Day. You're also more likely to get a better single deal, in my experience, if you book ahead rather than try to get a last minute deal. The best single deals I've gotten have been in Nov. and Dec., outside of the holidays. Good luck! Roz
wrp96 Posted August 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2006 Well, I don't think you are going to find a line where you don't have to pay double. But doing a search for the cheapest cruises that week out of your area, here are some options: 6-night NCL Spirit to the Bahamas on 8/27 out of Manhattan 7-night Celebrity Zenith to Bermuda on 8/26 out of Bayonne 5-night Carnival Victory to Canada/New England on 8/26 out of Manhattan 5-night RCCL Grandeur to Bermuda on 8/27 out of Baltimore 7-night NCL Majesty to Bermuda on 8/27 out of Baltimore
counsdr Posted August 12, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted August 12, 2006 Thanks all I got my fix! It'll be short, but it is just "what the Dr. ordered"!

counsdr Posted August 13, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted August 13, 2006 I'm going on the Imagination on Aug. 24th. I'm extending it 2 days by visiting with a friend in Ft. Lauderdale who I met on the Grandeur and then cruised with again the next year on the Enchantment. How do you get the countdown clock to work? I can never figure it out. I'm extremely technologically challenged! Thanks!
wrp96 Posted August 14, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2006 If you go this thread and follow Globaliser's directions you should be able to update your clock. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=174730 Make sure to follow the Revised directions in his signature as the website for countdown clocks has changed.
