Moving people and Printing Set Sail Pass

We have 2 Platinum members in our group and have them in separate cabins for "booking" purposes only to get the Balcony discount for both cabins. When we get to the ship, we will put them both in the same cabin. Will it do any good to print our "Set Sail" passes online....since we're moving people? We've never used the "printed" ones before. Will it help to print the passes for the 4 of us that aren't moving anyway? Also, this will be our first time in the Platinum departure lounge. How does that work? Do we wait there and then go back to the original "check-in" area or does it have it's own "check-in" area? Thanks for the help!!!

Yes, print the Set Sail passes because that is how you will check in. You cannot move pax until after you've gone through the basic check in process. Then they usually send you to another "desk" to make the changes. If you try to move people before you complete the check in process, they will want to charge you any difference in fare (for taking a C&A member out of the cabin). We have done it before and it isn't difficult. It just took about 10 minutes extra time before we got to go onboard.

what happens at the second desk? cannot all the passengers just go to the cabins they want to be in without additional changes? we have a similar scenario re the discount pricing for the second cabin and i thought once we were finished checking in we would go to our cabins as planned. we can always change room keys among ourselves and adjust cabin on board charges without the hassle of desk number 2 and anything that could go wrong during the switch.

The only problem with switching cards is when you get on and off the ship. Your picture is imbedded in the card when you board for the first time. So when your face won't match the picture when you switch keys. You would be much better off by taking the extra time and getting the change done.

Don't even bbring it up with RCCL. When you get on borad ship ask for an extra key, when we had asked them to move people they wanted to charge them extra as they were not crown & anchor member. Then just have them using the extra key.

We had no problem switching pax. In fact, I had called C&A in advance to ask about it and the rep told me to book it that way and then change after check in. You have to do it after you fully complete check in.

At the second desk, they had us hand in our just made Sea Passes. We told them which two people were switching, and they made up new changed Sea Passes on the spot. It's not just that they are your cabin access or are embedded with the photo for getting on and off the ship (which is a huge deal), but also they are linked to the CC given for that cabin. We did have to specify who would have charging privileges on which card; not a problem.
