timecop Posted August 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2006 I am planning a Baltic cruise on Celebrity Century, and please forgive me if this question was asked before, but can I use Euros in the countries I will be visiting, or did I have to use each country’s currency? Thank you. Carmen
RickT Posted August 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2006 You'll probably find more info on the baltic port section of the board. However, we just came back from the baltic and found that it was best to use the local currency. Other than in Russia we were able to purchase local currency on board (you could sell back any bills you didn't use) and the exchange rates appeared to be fair. A few $ were lost when selling them back. It seemed that most major stores and restaurants were capable of accepting Euros (or pounds) however many smaller places wouldn't. Using a credit card was also easy (and so far safe). Other than Russia we didn't see any issues.
