HookLine&Sinker Posted August 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2006 Please excuse what may seem like a silly question to those with more experience . . . but here goes. When speaking of upgrades, do they only happen to people who have booked directly with RCCL or do people who book through a TA also find themselves visited by the always welcomed "Upgrade Fairy"? Cruisechick82 Posted August 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2006 We booked through a TA and just found out on Monday that we were upgraded to an oceanview from an inside. We booked our cruise almost a year ago and noticed the upgrade 6 days before sailing if that helps. This is also our second cruise.
dachshunddoglover Posted August 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2006 The only thing consistent about upgrades is that they are totally inconsistent. But - we can all still dream can't we.
HookLine&Sinker Posted August 24, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Thanks for your response, it was just what I was wondering. We took our first cruise in April 06 with another couple so we wouldn't have wanted our room location changed as we wanted to be near each other. However I've just booked a 50th Birthday cruise for DH in March 07, just the two of us and though I am completely happy with our balcony room on Deck 9 I was wondered if it was possible that we might receive a "visit" even though we booked through a TA. cb at sea Posted August 24, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Anything is possible, but I'm glad you're happy with the room you have now. An upgrade from a balcony is unlikely! Not impossible, but unlikely!
