Where is the pier in NOLA?

We will be driving in the day of our Golden cruise on December 16th. I'd like to map out our route on Yahoo Maps to ensure we get there in plenty of time. I need the name of the pier or the street name or some other identifying information so I can print out driving directions. Thanks! :)

In 2003 (pre Katrina) it was where Julia Street met the Mississippi River. Anyone else remember the yellow chairs?

Behind the Convention Center! Just drive to the far right (west) end and you'll see the entrance to the wharf there.

Misses the yellow chairs ....... cant wait till I get to cruise from NOLA again

I don't know why but getting to the New Orleans port has always seemed confusing to me. (and we have sailed out of there 4 times)

 

If you are coming in from Slidell, what we do is stay on I-10 until we reach the Canal Street exit. We take the Canal Street exit and then take the SECOND right (the first street you come to is not Canal).

 

Once we are on Canal, we follow it all the way to the end and veer to the right. We continue to veer to the right (making a U turn) until we take the next left on the Convention Center road. You follow the Convention Center road until it dead ends and take a left (go over the RR tracks) and then another left...and you are on the port road.

 

I always hated the way the Convention Center completely blocks the view of the port.

 

With the new parking garage right next to the ship opening up soon (if it isn't already)....there should be plenty of convenient parking.
