TNT Cruisers Posted August 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Unfortunately we are stuck with an early fight out of Venice (7:20am). We've made wonderful plans for pre and post cruise stays in Venice, but that darn early departure time is worrying me due to the necessity of arriving 2.5 to 3 hours pre-flight to get through customs and security. We have found a hotel somewhat near the Venice airport, but I cannot get a guarantee on transport to the airport at that hour. Any experienced voice out there with advice? Will I be able to get a taxi if the hotel's shuttle is not active that early or would a reserved private car be recommended? Any hotel recommendations in the airport area? Thanks from a first poster. Rare Cruise Junky Posted August 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2006 There's no way it's going to take 2.5 - 3 hours to get through Security, and Customs is something you'll hit upon arrival back in the US. I don't even think security opens until around 5:00 am. Don't panic, you'll have plenty of time. Your hotel will be able to set you up with transportation. We found this company to be very reliable when we were in Venice in June. http://www.venice-limousine.com/
TNT Cruisers Posted August 27, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Thank you both. Having now found a hotel next to Marco Polo with a shuttle beginning at 5am, I think we're cool. Thanks for the reassurance.
