BearJT Posted August 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Here's a challange for my fellow forum members. I need to find a cruise that meets most, if not all, of the list below. So far my research on the web and here has failed me. 1. Ship size ~500 or less 2. Caribbean/Mexico itinerary that maximizes dive time. 10-14 days would be perfect. 3. Quality near to Seabourn or Regent 4. Interesting things for my wife to do for land excursions. She doesn't dive so that's why a real live aboard is out. So, can anyone come up with a match? Thanks in advance,
bruce-r Posted August 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2006 http://www.cuanlaw.com or http://www.aquacatcruises.com/ Yes, I know these boats are much smaller than what you are looking for, but I think they do a decent job of blending a liveaboard for divers for a sailing adventure for non-divers. Windstar would be the other cruise line to look at.
BearJT Posted August 27, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Bruce, Thanks. I've shown her both, without success. Windstar got a more positive response. I'll try again since she's said that I have to have a dive trip next year. Warm water to balance out diving here in New England. :D
bruce-r Posted August 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2006 You might also consider an All Inclusive resort in Cozumel for a week. The upscale Cozumel Palace or the Occidental Grand are the 2 that you might want to look at.
Capt_BJ Posted August 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 28, 2006 Windstar seems like a perfect match - not 'maximum diving' like a live aboard but there was diving in every dive-able port in my experiences...generally a 2 tank trip each inport day.... Small, quality, other shore excursions not cheap tho get the literature. One of the Canal trips could be very interesting....
