Joining cruise at 1st port of call

Has anyone had any experience joining the cruise at the first port of call? We would like to take the Century transatlantic this fall and board at Villefranche sur Mer on Oct 28 instead of boarding in Barcelona on Oct 27.

I have never done it, but I did inquire of Celebrity about it. We are on a transatlantic from Barcelona. I called Celebrity and asked about joining the prior cruise (Venice-Barcelona) in Civitavecchia, which was about day 9. They told me that we could not do that. I didn't ask why.

that under certain circumstances the cruise line is fined if they accept someone. You have to check if your cruise would be affected by this. I believe this falls under the Passenger Services Act.

You would have to make the request to Celebrity. You won't get a discount for the missed day.

 

The Passenger Services Act does not apply to European sailings.
