I am so excited. We just booked our first River Cruise for next Dec. 07 on a Christmastime Cruise on the Avalon---Tranquility. I want to thank Steamboats and EVERYONE ELSE who contributed great information in helping us make a decision on a Rivercruise. I can't believe we are going.

We have lots of reading up on place to go & see.

You have lots of time to do your homework now. My advice is to order free brochures from all towns you have a shore stop. The website is usually the name of the town and .de for German towns or .at for Austrian towns, like www.passau.de. For Vienna check http://www.vienna.info/, Bratislava http://www.bratislava.sk/ and Budapest http://www.budapest.hu/. Some have online order forms, some you have to email using the contact address.

 

The Avalon Tranquility is a brand new ship which will be launched next year. So don´t search for any reviews by now. It´s a twin of the Avalon Tapestry which started its first season this year. So you might find reviews of this boat.
