gonna go cruising Posted September 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I was looking on Cruisecalender to see what other ships are in port when we are. I looked at Princess Cay as a fluke to make sure there was only one ship there at a time. I did notice that is not always the case but usually there is only one. However, I also noticed that it is not always Princess ships there. I saw Arcadia, Seven Seas, and another ship or so. Did I miss something? I just found it odd. Toto2Kansas Posted September 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2006 We have been to Princess Cays over a dozen times in the past. I have never seen more than one ship stop there at the same time. I don't think I have ever heard of more than one ship being there on the same day either. Really crowded when a huge ship like the Caribbean Princess is there, but nice and lots of room when the smaller Sun Class ships make the stop. gonna go cruising Posted September 3, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted September 3, 2006 The calendar has January 6 with CB and Star Princess. Two of the Seven Seas ships are there on January 10. I must say I cant imagine how crowded that will be!
gonna go cruising Posted September 3, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted September 3, 2006 Those other ships are under the Carnival umbrella. :) Thanks. That was the only explanation I could think of but did not know.
prarie cruiser Posted September 3, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I cannot imagine Princess would put two ships there at one time. Maybe there will be an early ship and then a later ship using the same facility in January. It would be very crowded and take away some of the special qualities to share it with another ship. ToplessPony Posted September 3, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2006 2 Regant ships really would not be that bad. Even 4 would be fine! I think all of their ships have 700 or less passengers and the Caribbean Princess has 3100! I could be wrong but I don't think Carnival owns Regant? Isn't Seabourn their small luxury ship line? We were at Princess Cays a few years ago and found a bunch of NCL logo'd items laying around. No idea which ship it was from or if it was a regular stop but we found a few napkins, cups and other misc things. Scott
gonna go cruising Posted September 3, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I know that if I were on Star Princess January 6 and the cruisecalendar is correct, I would be quite upset to see the Caribbean Princess there as well. That sounds like way too many people but maybe that time of year the ship is not full.
CruisinChris Posted September 3, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 3, 2006 Princess has an agreement with Regent which gives them access to PC. They pay for the priviledge. This agreement has been in place for at least several years.
