donutcop Posted September 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2006 Dh and i are booked on the Liberty (Freedom's sister ship) for next Fall on the 7th deck....I *think* it would be a good deck...pretty much mid ship from top to bottom. I'm sure someone else will be able to help you out about the size of the balconies.....I've only sailed Carnival before so only have an idea how big their balconies are. And yes....Royal has the same idea as Carnival's sail and sign card :)
beancounterbeth Posted September 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2006 We were on Freedom this past week. We were on deck 8 but I'm pretty sure deck 7 is exactly the same. We had an E1 or E2 balcony (can't remember which) and it was great. As far as drinks go you sign for drinks using your sea pass card. There is a weekly thing you can sign up for (at a price) to get unlimited soda but nothing like that for liquor, which is paid for per drink. Nanatravel Posted September 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2006 The balconies on "most" D1, D2, E1 & E2's are fairly standard fitting two chairs and a small table. However, depending on your cabin number, the balcony could be slightly larger; aft and hump cabins to name a few general areas. Inside dimension about 170 SF to 180 SF, again depending on category and location. The Sign & Sail Sea pass is used for all purchases on board ship (except stamps and casino although advances can be made on your card). The card acts as your cabin key and identification (your picture will be inbedded electronically) when exiting and entering the ship. I hope you like RCI as much as we have enjoyed the new Carnival ships. Try not to make too many comparisons but enjoy the differences. Take part in as much or as little of the events on board as interest you, too. Bon Voyage Nanatravel

depoteet Posted September 5, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2006 We were on Freedom this past week. We were on deck 8 but I'm pretty sure deck 7 is exactly the same. We had an E1 or E2 balcony (can't remember which) and it was great. We're booked on Freedom for the first week of July next year on deck 8 in an E2 balcony. It's a hump cabin - 8640. Were you close? We're pretty close to the elevator. Any problems there?
