Southampton to Heathrow via bus...pickup point question

I need to get a National Express bus from Southampton to Heathrow. I have the schedules from them, BUT--which pickup point is closer to the actual docking port of the ship: Red Funnel(Town Quay) OR Harbour Parade and is either one within walking distance from the port?

I wouldn't count on walking to either of them - it's probably technically possible but it's a pretty long way to walk to anywhere from the docks.

 

Your choice is more constrained by the availability of services. The main bus station has a direct bus to Heathrow every hour, but there's only a handful of direct buses from the Town Quay each day. If you're getting a taxi to the bus station anyway, then the main bus station has got to be the only sensible choice.
