New Orleans area People HELP - Questions

Firefighterhoop

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am planning a cruise out of New Orleans Next march on RCCL Grandeur.

My questions are; How far is the Pier from the French Quarter? Har far is French quarter from Airport?

Any hotel advice on the French Quarter, or is there somewhere BETTER to stay than the French Quarter?

How much is a taxi to the above?

Thanks!

Scott

The port is next to the French Quarter.

The airport is 20 miles or so from the port.

Do not know about fare for taxi's.

Stay in the French Quarter. Unique experience. Would not consider anything else. We will be staying at the Bienville House Hotel in a couple of weeks. Love the place. Any hotel in the French Quarter should be fine. Prices will vary widely according to what is going on.

I do not live in New Orleans but enjoy visiting the French Quarter.

Scott,

You may want to check

http://www.portno.com/cruise_info.htm

I think you'll find a lot of the info you need there.

Also, if you decide not to stay in the Quarter, check out the hotels near the Convention Center. Marriott had a few right there within walking distance of the terminal that were reasonable - a Spring Hill Suites and a Courtyard, though I'm not sure of their status since the storm.

Or check out this site for some cruise packages.

Don't plan on walking from the Quarter to the ship with any carryons. While it is within walking distance, that doesn't mean a block or two. :)

Have a wonderful time, and thanks for coming back to New Orleans!!
