kelmac Posted February 20, 2013 #1401 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Date: December 20th, 2013 Number of nights: 1 (pre cruise) Hotel: San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Rating: 4 star bid Area: Downtown San Diego, CA Site: Priceline Winning Bid: $85 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.85 Total Price: $103.85 The notion that you have to wait until there is less than two months before your start bidding does not hold true as of late. The last couple of years I've scored some great deals with some very early bids. Enjoy! Kel:)
vkb2751 Posted February 25, 2013 #1402 Share Posted February 25, 2013 Will be in Seattle for 2 nights post cruise May 15 and 16. Has anyone used express deal or bid on priceline recently? Would like to be in Pike Market area in 3 and 1/2 star or better. Have never used express deal or bidding. Any help/tips will be appreciated. Thank you. usviking Posted February 26, 2013 #1403 Share Posted February 26, 2013 Date: June 1, 2013 Number of nights: 1 (pre cruise) Hotel: Coast Gateway Hotel Rating: 3 stars Area: Seatac Airport Site: Priceline Price: $76 Tax: 12.5% Notes: Pay When You Stay; Free Cancellation This pricing showed up in the standard list view. The way my bids were being declined using Name Your Own Price, I didn't think I was going to get anything better. Plus, it's Pay When You Stay and cancelable. Coast Gateway Hotel showed a promotional rate of $104 + taxes on their website.

Markanddonna Posted March 5, 2013 #1407 Share Posted March 5, 2013 I've been trying for two different nights- one 3 and then a 3 1/2 star downtown and another night a three star Seatac. Two years ago, I got Red Lion downtown for $75 and a great one at Seatac for $45. This year, I stopped/as rejected at $85 3 1/2 star and $75 3 star downtown and $70 three star Seatac. I just booked Sleep Inn at Seatac both nights for $71 on their site. Tripadvisor gave them really high ratings. I've been to downtown Seattle a few times so I am not enthralled with staying downtown for a high price. BTW- these dates were for end of May/June. nojoke Posted April 18, 2013 #1410 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Just got a Priceline Express Deal for June 17. 4 stars $87 + tax, fees Westin LAX This hotel isn’t even listed on their website as 4 star. We were very happy to score this one--has a shuttle to LAX If you are looking for Priceline deals for June onward, better deal now. We waited too long for 3 days in mid June in Seattle. Ended up paying too much on another site, but bidding 3 1/2 star on Priceline was rough, and I wasn’t willing to big high without knowing which hotel it would win. Mooregre Posted April 23, 2013 #1411 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel for Friday, May 17 (one night) in Vancouver. I am reviewing Priceline and Hotwire options. Any suggestions or thoughts? I did see the winning bid for the Marriott and that may help me in bidding (if I use Priceline).

If you can afford 4 stars in your budget, I would go for that. Also, Express Deals is quite similar to Hotwire, so why not compare prices. As for which hotel you might get, I always use HotelDealsRevealed.com as a good starting point. In particular, here is the list of Priceline Seattle hotels. In the 4-star category, the Westin and the Sheraton are very popular with Priceline.

There were a ton of hotels with no vacancy, so am very happy to have this off of my to-do list.
