sunlover5 Posted May 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2006 On another board I saw someone got the Caribe Hilton in San Juan for Feb. 18, 07 already. I have been unsuccessfully trying for Feb. 22-25th. Going 3 days prior to cruise so maybe this is why, since trying for 3 days. I do have a backup reservation but would like a better price at a resort!!!!! I'll keep ya posted!!:)

irish rabbit Posted August 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Has anyone been successful on Priceline for hotels in SanJuan 12/14-12/16?? I've been trying for about the last month with no success. I'm bidding on resort, & so far have gone up to $140 per night. I'm afraid to go down to 3*, don't want to get stuck with Radisson, as I've read some awful reviews on that.... Last year, I think I paid $125 per night at the San Juan Marriott, but it'll still be closed for renovations when we need to go...

We had a great time. :D I was slightly disappointed with our wining bid of the Normandie but my hopes are slightly lifted. I picked up Fodor's Caribbean 2007 and they named the Normandie as Fodor's favorite. I guess that means it can't be too bad.

curlyd Posted October 11, 2006 #19 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Early morning bid got me Caribe Hilton $100 bid accepted March 23, 2007 1 night taxes & fees 24.49 Total $124.49 I had been trying for some time starting around $90 to $100 and going up to $120 with no luck. This morning at 4:20am I got the above on first bid. Maybe I should have started lower today. Oh well I am happy:D
islandprincess Posted October 11, 2006 #20 Share Posted October 11, 2006 I'm right there with you, CurlyD! I had been trying for MONTHS to get one night pre-cruise and two nights post-cruise. I was starting to panic thinking we were going to have to pay full price when we had been budgeting for something cheaper. Six months ago I started my bidding at $65 and at one point about a month ago had gone as high as $150 with no luck. It's been about a week since I tried and regrettably I went for the two day post-cruise first and started out at $90 and was accepted. I should have then tried $65 for the pre-cruise stay, but went with $70 on that one and it was accepted also. So now I'm kicking myself because I probably could have saved a total of $55 on the three nights if I had started lower, but I'm just so relieved I didn't have to pay the full price of $380 per night that I have been seeing. Hooray! :)
curlyd Posted October 11, 2006 #21 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Island Princess, I have been trying for weeks also. In my haste earlier I dedicded to go 3* and got the Normandie for our 2 day pre-cruise. I paid $120, I should have known better based on last years Priceline prices. But I just couldn't wait. So at least Fodor's says the Normadie is their favorite for 2007. But just imagine how much I could have saved if I had just waited. And who knew that my first bid at $100 was going to be accepted. I have been getting refused everyday for weeks and that was going from $90 to $120. Oh well live and learn. It still is cheaper than booking straight with the hotels. I am happy. sally4909 Posted October 11, 2006 #22 Share Posted October 11, 2006 Thanks for the news that you won the Caribe Hilton on priceline. After your post, I called my daughter and she bid for 2 nights. Started at $65.00, then free rebid to $70 and that was accepted. She has been trying every few days for weeks with no luck for a resort up to $140. Priceline Bid for resort in San Juan Date - January 4 & 5, 2007 - $70.00 plus taxes per night. Thanks, you saved her a bundle.
