Riley0214 Posted September 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Hello there! I am new to this board but not new to cruising (this will be my 5th, DH's 3rd). We booked the Oceanview Balcony room 7628 on the Mariner for Dec 10th. Has anyone stayed in that room? I'm hoping the view is not obstructed somehow. We have stayed in balcony rooms on the Grandeur and Voyager and loved them! I tried to get one on the "hump" but they were booked, this is pretty close to the hump, one room off. Thanks for any input! We are really excited!
jules815 Posted September 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2006 We were in 7648 on Mariner in June. We really liked the location a lot. I don't think you can go wrong with any balcony cabins on deck 7. Enjoy your cruise!
Riley0214 Posted September 19, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Thanks so mich! I was hoping to get a hump room but we just booked this on Sunday and I'm sure that those were taken a while ago.

Nurse Daybreak Posted September 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2006 I would consider that a hump cabin. We had 6326 on Adventure and it was a wonderful location. Enjoy your cruise.
Cruiseaway05 Posted September 19, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2006 I got concerned about getting an obstructed view and called RCCL yesterday. They said they have to tell you if it's obstructed and that you can see if it is by going to the website under cabin details for your room and it will tell you. I looked and still can't find any reference. Going on AOS on Nov. 12 - Rms 8288 and 8290. Anyone know if obstructed?

Nurse Daybreak Posted September 20, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Just so you know, not all partially obstructed views are on their website. I recently had been told that 1612 on voyager class was obstructed (We're booked there for next Feb). When I called the C&A they checked in "5 places" and said there was no obstruction. When pressed, they said they would e-mail the ship for me and find out. Sure enough, Lisa from C&A called me back a few days later and said it does have an obstructed view. About a 3 foot portion of the ship structure cuts the balcony in opening in half as well as some pipes coming down. This is quite likely to be the case as well with 1312 and I remember another post somewhere along this site where people had this in a D1. I guess that obstruction on RCCL is only if some object other than the ship hull itself blocks your view, such as life boats. See the link below for what I think is cabin 1612. It is exactly as described to me by Lisa. http://www.cengelhart.cruisesinc.com/travel/cruises/virtual_tour_popup.jsp?mediatype=2&path=/images/360/v/1980272159/tours/ATK/C36/XZ/ATKC36XZ-scene-s8-h460.jpg&desc=Superior%20Ocean-view%20Suite%20(Category%20JS)&shipname=Explorer%20of%20the%20Seas This cabin, in fact no JS cabins on Explorer are listed as obstructed. bouhunter Posted September 20, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Yes, we were in 7628 last February!:) It's a great room, no obstructed view. It is not a hump though, as someone mentioned above. We loved the location, very close to the stairs and elevators. There was a nice little corner in the hallway outside our door to put the room service tray. Promenade is down 2 quick flights of stairs away:)
