Staying on land overnight during cruise

We are planning on staying at the home of our friends one night while in Bermuda (Zenith). Is there a notification procedure when doing this? I was thinking maybe they keep track of guests for security purposes in some way. We do not want anyone to think we are "missing."

I only have experience on the Zenith to Bermuda. When the Zenith is docked in Hamilton and docked in St Georges the gangplank is open overnight. You are not accounted for until the ship is ready to sail.

You might want to let your room attendant know that you are planning to be out overnight so he/she will not be concerned for your safety.
