Also, for those who have cruised from New York in mid April, what weather have you experienced?

April's the only month in which I haven't sailed. But I have sailed from NYC several times in several different months, so I can give an answer of sorts.

I once sailed from NYC in June and it was rainy, cold, and miserable. Last March when I sailed from NYC it was sunny and relatively warm. I certainly didn't need a jacket at lifeboat drill.

So, the correct answer to your question is: good luck. It could be warm, cool, cold, still, windy, blustery, sunny, overcast, cloudy, ....
