Clutterlady Posted September 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2006 Do you think Princess will ever sail out of NYC year round? Would make life wonderful for us east coasters!! ;)

Guest LoveMyBoxer Posted September 28, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2006 Or at least in the summer back to Bermuda. We miss the Pacific Princess!
enymarsh Posted September 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2006 HAL will be doing 10 and 11 roundtrip NYC cruises to the caribbean all winter, why shouldn't Princess? They'll be alternating between southern and eastern caribbean itineraries. The thing is... I took a closer look at the port times and they are strange! Here's an example: on the 11 day Noordam, southern caribbean they start with Tortola 1pm-9pm, then have great times at St. Thomas, Dominica, and Barbados only to follow that with St. Maarten 11am-7pm, and San Juan 7am-1pm. Still, an 11 day cruise with 6 ports... sounds pretty nice! I'm already booked for next year on Princess but I am keeping my eye on these itineraries, very intriguing. HAL's 10 day eastern is less interesting for me with these stops: Grand Turk 7am-2pm, Tortola 12 noon-9pm, St. Maarten 8am-6pm, St. Thomas 7am-6pm, and San Juan 7am-1pm. Clutterlady Posted September 28, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted September 28, 2006 I know NCL does and now found out HAL does, so why not Princess? Don't think they would have a problem filling the ships?!? Certainly realize that it would be a bit "chilly" for the first couple of days, but who cares, you're on a great ship! critterchick Posted September 28, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 28, 2006 I wish they would sail year round of out LA! We get a ship in the winter, but then they migrate north for the summer Alaska season.

We thought the exact same thing :) ! We loved the idea of these cruises but some of those port times are pretty poor - I don't like leaving or arriving at a port at 1 pm! skyejaden Posted September 28, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2006 I really hope they start utilizing the pier in Brooklyn for more ships. Especially to Bermuda because the options are so limited. It would be nice to have a ship that did some sunny routes in the winter, even if it was a longer itinerary.
