Rodoverer Posted September 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2006 I have a few Grandeur questions. 1. How big is the room safes? Can you fit a laptop in it? Does anyone have a pic of the room safe? 2. Are there electrical outlets on the JS balconies? If not how far to nearest in room outlet? 3. Can you lock securely the JS walk in closets? 4. Are there coffee makers in the JS rooms? Thanks

Thanks 1) About 12" wide X 8" deep X 5" high inside, the opening is smaller, no, a laptop will not fit. 2) No, there is an outlet at the desk, and an outlet for a shaver in the head, that is it. It's about 12 or so feet to the desk from the balcony. 3) No, there are no locks on the closet. 4) Again, no, there is no coffee maker in the room. Merion_Mom Posted September 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2006 Boy, wraithe, that WAS an easy one to answer, wasn't it?: NO. Rodney, if you want to use your laptop out on the balcony, you'll have to bring a long extension cord. If you have a LOT of electronics you want to keep plugged in (chargers, hair dryer, ipod speakers, etc), bring a surge strip (or squid) AND an extension cord. You can't lock things into the closet, but you can put stuff in your suitcase and lock IT and put it under your bed.
vfin Posted October 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2006 My Grandeur JS (8560) closet was large, plenty of room for suitcases and everything, but not a "walk-in". My husband and I sometimes left the room with our laptops on the desk, or in their cases under the desk, and there was no problem at all. I at times got a signal in my room but it was not reliable, and my husband always went to the computer lab. (Just down the hall, anyway). IMHO your laptop is safe, make sure your door is completely shut.
daffodil Posted October 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2006 I thought the suites ,JS, were the same in all the ships. I was surprised to read that your JS did not have a walk in closet. We had one on Jewel and I'll be disappointed if we don't get one on navigator. Anybody know if some Js are bigger than others?
cruisetarp Posted October 1, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2006 We were recently on the Grandeur in a JS and there is a large closet but NOT a walk in one. We were in 8530 and the only problem was there was a large pole at the foot of the bed.
madforcruising Posted October 1, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 1, 2006 It´s true the closets on Jewel (Radiance class) are real walk in for the Junior Suites. On Vision class they are nice and large but not the same like walk-in on Radiance class.
