Guest CRUZIN' SUZIN Posted November 29, 2006 #401 Share Posted November 29, 2006 Late seating -- less kids, more solos, less rush from waiters, no rush to get back to ship early to get ready for dinner, It goes something like this . . . . back from ship at 5:00, nap until 7:00, shower and change for dinner, eat at 8, go to late show at 9:30, then stop in casino for an hour or so at 10:30, and off to the dance club or Lido Deck party from midnight until 3:00 a.m., late night pizza and good conversation with new found nite owl ship buddies from 3:00 - 4:00 a.m., back to your cabin to set your telephone for a wake up call for 7:00 so as to shower and have time for breakfast before your 9:00 meetup for your "already paid/non-refundable island excursion" -- perfect schedule for a solo traveler. This is heaven!!!!:p

Cruzin Suzin... if I did that everynight I think I would be dead at the of the week. God bless anyone that can cuz it does sound like a great plan :D !!! Yes, by the end of a 7 day cruise, I am pretty much wiped out. On my last day, I laid out on a pool lounger thinking, "I can do this for 7 days. I sure couldn't do this for 8!!!" That is why in spite of the issues on the Destiny, I had a blast. Truth be told, usually by midway through the cruise, one of those 5:30 naps turn into an all-nighter.:p My mind is willing but my body ain't able.:D I can sleep at home for free!!!!!!!! Liz...I'll try to touch the bridge if they don't pull me down of the smoke stack first.... kathy...While I'm gone please help to keep this thread going and on course.... Cruzin....Day goes loke this. Wake up call at 9:30 and room service. Then watch news to see if they have blown us up yet. (Can't people just get along?) Also to catch the sports scores to se if I won some money. Quick shower and on shore to stretch legs and find a place that makes a good Bloody Mary. Then to a fun bar for some beers. Back to the ship and more cold ones by the pool bar. Oops...snack time.....more beer and get ready for dinner. Vodka Gibson before dinner and wine with dinner. A show if it is going to be interesting and then time for more beer and night life. End day at 3:00 AM or so. Then start all over again.... :D :p Jeff

Rowan555 Posted December 1, 2006 #422 Share Posted December 1, 2006 I never thought this thread would apply to me, but here I am! I am "kind of" cruising solo on the 11th - just booked a great last minute deal on the Fantasy for me and the kids. DH can't take any more time off work for the next few months. It will be my second time on the ship in a month, but I'll have two VERY different experiences. On December 2nd we're crusing with my husband, kids, mother in law, father in law, sister in law, and brother in law. Ack! Then it will be just me and the kids 4 days later. The kids will be enjoying Camp Carnival 8 or 9 hours a day - and as a homeschooling, work-at-home mom, I am simply NOT used to that amount of free/alone time for one day, much less 5. I'm looking forward to it, but it's also a bit daunting. I'll be reading through this thread to get some ideas for how to spend my time.

kathy32259 Posted December 1, 2006 #424 Share Posted December 1, 2006 Well the time has arrived for your very first solo cruise! You have a fabulous time - tell the piano man we all said hi! Liz Posted December 2, 2006 #425 Share Posted December 2, 2006 Have a fab time, Jeff! Make sure the Piano Man sings us a song... ooh, way too early for humor... need more coffee... Have your camera ready to photo Piano Man's face as you open the trunk for the luggage... will be pretty funny, I'm sure! Rowan - it sounds like you will need (deserve?) a good spa day - kinda like a Mom's version of Camp Carnival? I do agree with the Ack though.... Later, all...
