Any month better for Baltic Cruise?

We are likely to go on the Baltic cruise this summer and wondering if anyone knows if June July or August is better...or if they is anything else we should know before booking. We are looking at the London to Stockholm itinerary.

Thanks for any advice!

Best,

Weather often iffy.

We did Baltic late Aug 05, on Regatta, and had good weather and smooth seas.

We also did it May 99, on NCL's Norwegian Dream, with fair weather and bumpy seas in the North Sea.

We went beginning of June and there were some rainy days, however, it was generally nice and cool for walking around the palaces and museums like the Hermitage - where there is no a/c. All inall the weather was very pleasant. The spring flowers were in bloom and I would recommend this time.

Friends of ours took the trip in August and it sounded like there were not as much pier-side 'walk on' tours being offered. There were a lot on our sailing. Maybe someone who has gone in Aug can further comment.

We were on the July 2005 Baltic Cruise. We had three glorious sun shinny days with pleasant temperatures. The previous year on an Oceania Cruise some of the staff suggested that we go in July as they had been there in August and it can be quite cold. Read my posting on our wonderful experience with DenRus.

Did a Copenhagen to Dover sailing in July - August time frame a few years ago on the Crystal Symphony. Weather was great except for Bergen, Norway, which was mid 60's and raining off and on. Copenhagen, Stockholm, St. Petersburg and Helsinki were all clear and warm. I guess it just depends on how Mother Nature is feeling on any given day.
