multi segement air through RCI or on your own?

Has anyone gotten a cheaper multi segment on your own verses the cruise line? The cruise line's airport are at least 5-7 hours away but my airport will cost about $500 more for the 2 of us? But that would aslo mean a rental car and a 6 hour drive after a 15 hour flight waht to do?

That would have to be a personal choice..........but if it were me, after flying 15 hours, the last thing I'd want to do is face a five hour drive! Yikes! Hope it all works out for you!

I take it you are flying to some overseas port?? I would go through a travel agent for the flight, if that's the case! RCI NEVER books you on the most direct or easiest flight!

I dont use a T/A for anything anymore except for a week package to a hotel on an island. For air and cruises, I do it myself. I like to have control of where I fly from and when I fly, plus I can usually get better deals and times I need too. I know its a little bit of extra work, but the benefits are better in the end imo.
