We did Sawgrass a few years ago and really enjoyed it. http://www.evergladestours.com/

Airboat ride, and live animal exhibits (baby alligators, turtles, komodo dragon, and you can even pet a panther) and cool/funky gift shop. THey also gave up popcorn to feed to the birds (they swoop down and grab the popcorn out of your hand).

Can anybody recommend everglade tour. Would like to take the family on airboard ride and see the alligators. How far are they from Port Everglade. We will be staying at the Bahia Mar Beach Hotel.

Will you have your own car? From the Bahia Bar the two closest locations are 30-45 minutes west of the hotel.

We did the one offered by carnival last year after our Triumph cruise. It was great didnt have to worry about the luggage at all they had it out at the bus waiting for us. Then they drop you right at the airport. It was a great way to kill time before our flight.

Our cruise finishes on the Thur and we don't fly home until Fri. We have done a tour with the ship and really enjoyed it. This time we are going with other people (12 of us) that have not done it before so would like to do on our own. Any suggestions.

You have two nearby companys to choose from, both about 40 minutes from Bahia Mar.

:( OOPS; I missed that there were 12 of you; one boat holds 9. SORRY!

But here is my infor anyways, maybe they have a bigger boat or will do two?

We did the GREATEST custom personalized tour a couple Christmas Eve's ago!!! Our family of 6 (three generations). Called Ride-the-Wind. At the same another friend (from CA on same cruise) went on one of these others. We SAW AMAZING things! alligators GALORE. We got to drive the BOAT! we went fairly deep into the everglades and stopped at some fishing camps. THIS was the highlight of our trip (and we spent 7 days on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and Bahamas) Our guide was Parker. He grew up in the Everglades, camping and fishing. HE KNEW where to find lots of alligators and especially MO. We got up close and personal with this alligator. Go to their site. THEY ARE HOT!!

Hope you have a great time like we did!! We called Captain Randy and arranged to meet at a spot along (27 & or) 75 super easy to get to and SO worth it.

PS we also checked out the bigger place with the "zoo." We saw the the zoo thing; WE were so glad to get such a personal tour and SPECIAL memory from Parker. We really got the feel for the SPECIAL place that is the Everglades!
