Suite Location -vs- Elevators

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who has been so very helpful in assisting me with the planning of my vacation. With everyone’s help and advice I have:

1. Chosen Royal Caribbean over Princess.

2. Chosen an Eastern Caribbean route over a Western Caribbean route.

3. Chosen the Owner’s suite over the Grand Suite.

So again, thank you.

Now, on to the latest (and hopefully final dilemma); we will be staying in an owner’s suite on the Explorer. My grandmother is concerned about the possibly of noise issues as our suite is directly across from the elevator. I personally think that this is a bonus (recent knee surgery), but she is skeptical. Has anyone got any experience with suites in this location? Any issues? Any advice?

We were on the "hump" on the Mariner next to the elevators twice and never heard a sound. You're more apt to hear people in adjacent cabins or on balconies.

The elevators aren't right by the rooms! It doesn't show it on the deck plans, but they're in their own hallway. Sound won't be a problem!

Zaff ~~~ We stayed in OS 1320 on the Explorer on 6/30...it is right across from the elevator lobby. It was peaceful each night. The OS is a great room and you will LOVE it, and you will LOVE the Explorer!!

I love the hump location, never have heard a sound from the stairs or the elevators and it's just steps out your door and everything is just a short elevatore ride away.
