Has anybody booked this thru the ship? I have never snorkeled before and it sounds interesting to me. Do they make you wear a life vest? I'm afraid I never was a strong swimmer and the water is 6 to 12 ft deep.

Bev, we plan to do this tour. (Also, on the Westerdam.) We go on a lot of snorkel excursions in the Caribbean and I have never seen them not make people wear life vests. Everyone wears a vest. In Hal's booklet for this they say that staff will show you how to use equipment. You will probably not be the only one new to snorkeling. It also has the sign of 2 people walking which means it is not that difficult for Hal passengers. You should be fine. If you have further questions you can always ask about it at excursion desk.
