39august Posted October 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Will the Jewel of the Seas be docked or will it tender on Nov. 28? RCI's web site says docked, but I don't know if it is accurate.
czmjacq Posted October 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Jewel hasn't hit Cozumel this season so can't say what it normally does - however most of RCCL ships do dock - primarily at International Pier but Rhapsody was docked here last week downtown at Punta Langosta. So docking (somewhere) is probably correct.
wrp96 Posted October 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Jacq, the day the OP is there, the Jewel of the Seas will be joined by the Freedom of the Seas plus Carnival Holiday, P&O Arcadia, and Norwegian Dream. With those other ships in port, do you still think Jewel of the Seas will get to dock, since Freedom will almost definitely dock?

I really don't know who gets first dibs on the docking or how that is determined. But there is only space for 4 ships to actually dock - I know RCCL usually docks at International Pier and Norweigian ships are usually at Punta Langosta - you can check the cruise ship calender a few weeks prior to the trip to see what normally happens - http://www.cozumelinsider.com/cruiseship We have the port captain's schedule posted weekly - sorry not any further in advance than that.
