flagger Posted July 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2004 If you go HERE you can download high quality backgrounds for your desktop. The cloud data is about 6 hours out of date, but the terminator line is accurate to the near top of the hour.
excitedofharpenden Posted July 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2004 Flagger, thanks very much. This is a  site and a great view. Do you have any idea if I can download the pic so it appears as my wallpaper and updates? I have Windows 98 SE. I tried to understand the site instructions, but got a bit lost. Thanks. excitedofharpenden Posted July 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2004 Flagger I'm bumping this one up. I am downloading some great images as my wallpaper, but have to do it manually. Any ideas? Phil
flagger Posted July 19, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted July 19, 2004 Sorry I just saw this. 1. Right click on the Desktop, select Properties 2. Select the Desktop tab, click the Customize button 3. In the ensuing pop-up, select the Web tab 4. Click the New button 5. Enter the URL for the pic you want as your desktop 6. Click next, etc... until it is done. 7. Back in the Web tab, select the newly added item, and click the Properties button 8. On the Schedule tab, click Add 9. Set to every 1 day, at a particular time (any time, such at 09:00 am), and give the schedule a name of some sort. Click OK. 10. Select the new schedule item and click Edit. 11. On the Schedule tab, make sure it is set to repeat every day, then click the Advanced button 12. Set it repeat the task every 1 hour for 23 hours. 13. OK your way out. I noticed that when you click on the individual links, you get forwarded to another file. You need to link to: »taint.org/xplanet/day_clouds_1600x1200.. or the appropriate one for your screen resolution. It will automatically forward to »taint.org/xplanet/tmp/200407151356.411.. or whatver the graphic of the moment is (usually the same url with a /tmp/longdateencodedstreamname in it). I found this out when my updates stopped after the first hour.
