Pros/cons of Riverside Hotel and Grande (FLL)?

I understand they are in different parts of the city, but was curious what would be our best option. Prices we can book are the same, practically.

 

We plan on taking the water taxi to Los Olas to walk, peoplewatch and eat. However, we wouldn't mind picking up some water at a store prior to our cruise. Don't care about a liquor store - don't drink enough to warrant the sidetrip.

 

What would be the best option for us? Proximity to pier/airport don't seem to matter since we'll take a taxi to/from both. (And are taxis easy to get to the pier from both areas on a Sunday morning?)

Hi, The Riverside is right in the middle of Las Olas Blvd:D :)

fantastic location.....lots of shops and restaurants on both sides!

 

Fl Grande used to be The Marriott Marina. They are both

nice but totally different styles of hotels. They both have websites

so you can see what I am referring to....the Grande is a bigger highrise style.

Riverside is more of a historic building.

 

I would say if you are going to stay at the Riverside ask

for a "Tower Room"..they are newer.

 

Cabs are always available.....no matter what day of the week:)
