Ocho Rios vs Montego Bay.....

Which of these ports do you prefer? :)

Truthfully, neither were very appealing to me. But, I would prefer Ocho Rios. Margaritaville was right there at the pier, and the excursions seemed a little better. Montego Bay offered nothing but a few souvenier shops at the pier.

we have been on 14 cruises... 4 times to each of the two listed... one week in montego bay and would never go back to jamaica again... we now book our cruises around jamaica... very few friednly people compared to other ports... sorry thats how we feel...

We were in Montego Bay on the Conquest a few years ago. We were very pleasantly surprised. We had a great day at Rose Hall Beach.

 

Haven't been to Ocho Rios yet (next February).

On a cruise last December, we were scheduled for Ocho Rios but due to a storm and rough seas, the ship docked at Montego Bay which meant all tours out of Ocho Rios were cancelled. A change in the port can happen anytime due to varying causes so don't get your heart set on one or the other.

 

Montego Bay was extremely disappointing.....a small shopping area which we took a van to and you felt like if you left this area, you would never be seen again.
