T&J Posted November 12, 2006 Author #976 Share Posted November 12, 2006 I am so excited about going to Egypt, even though it's still a year away. We've tried to get there twice; maybe third time is the lucky one. Will wait to hear/see/read about your excursion and see if it's cost effective. Ro and Murray want to go too. I gave them your regards and they responded, "Tony who?" LOL :D :) :D Arlene We'll thruthfully the Egypt part of this cruise is the whole reason why I booked these two cruises back to back. Originally 18 months ago when the Exotics were released Javier and I were booked together on thsi one the Transatlantic crossing but decided to cancel after they change the Trnasatlantic to New Orleans and not Rio de Janeiro. Also because of security concerns we didn't think Princess would be going to Egypt this year so I decided to play the wait and see approach. T&J Posted November 12, 2006 Author #977 Share Posted November 12, 2006 If you look at the Cruise Cam now you will be able to see whats left of the sunset and the pink and purple skyline over the ocean...another pretty one tonight! Just came back from the Horizon Court and had a salad with a chocolate chip cookie to tie me over until dinner tonight. More to follow later today from the Golden Princess enroute to Athens, Greece. T&J Posted November 12, 2006 Author #978 Share Posted November 12, 2006 Alright I am going to beheading up to my cabin and get ready and changed for dinner and Formal Night....YUK! I will be back on here in a couple of hours time and hopefully the Internet Cafe will be dead like now. More to follow from the Golden Princess enroute to Athens, Greece. Druke I Posted November 12, 2006 #979 Share Posted November 12, 2006 If you don't like dressing for dinner, perhaps you should check out Oceania. They have a very reasonable dress code - "country club casual" every night. It sure does simplify packing. (And their food is very good indeed!) You mentioned Egypt earlier - we'll be there very soon (11-20-06) on Oceania's Nautica.

Looking forward to hearing about Egypt; your perception as well as Tony's. As stated earlier, I've been trying to get there since 1990. State dept. disallowed it twice. Druke I Posted November 12, 2006 #982 Share Posted November 12, 2006 "Country club casual is not jeans and a tee shirt" Absolutely correct. For men, docker style chinos and a collared shirt are fine. I did have a sports jacket with me when we were on Regatta into the Baltic last year, but never wore it. Did see a couple of gents wearing one, but I left mine in the closet. I'll probably take one with me on Nautica, just out of habit. Ladies also were casual - don't recall seeing any gowns - but certainly some nice slack/blouse outfits, and what I would call spring or summer dresses, and a few cocktail party type dresses. arlenemilt Posted November 12, 2006 #985 Share Posted November 12, 2006 OK. OK. I got the message. Three times! :) :) :) Casual to us in South Florida means capris for women, and always an open collar shirt for men. Only time you see a tie is at a funeral and sometimes not even then. BigTimeCruiser Posted November 12, 2006 #992 Share Posted November 12, 2006 Thanks for the update Curt. I remembered seeing this but couldn't find the thread. I'm going to copy and paste your comments to another thread, because it's kind of gotten buried in amongst all the rest of the stuff in this thread. I'm not sure EVERYONE is following this blog. I hope you don't mind me doing this. We'll be on Grand Princess in less than 3 weeks. SPONGEROB---No problem at all using the Post. You will really like the camera card readers in the Internet Cafe. Hopefully, the entire fleet will get them over time..........Curt:)

T&J Posted November 12, 2006 Author #999 Share Posted November 12, 2006 Wow...I have been trying to post on and off all night so here goes as the satelite link has been unpredicatable. Went to dinner at 7:00pm with Adiamo! and her husband Jean-Luc very nice people. We first had a bottle of Pinot Griogio and they had prepared a specilaty appetizer of Brasola for us with arugula and shaved parmasen cheese. I then ordered a mixed leaf lettuce salad with red wine vinegrette and a 10 ounce Filet rare with some grilled side shrimps from the Steak House (Steak Lorriane) and Jean-Luc ordered a bottle of Jack London which is one of my favorite wines. I had the drambuie and coconut parfait for dessert with coffee. We had a great time and didn't get out of the Dinning Room until well after 9:30pm. I went back to my cabin afterwards to change and get out of my penguin suit as I was too hot from all that wine mixing and decided to head to the "Office". The "Office" was not bad tonight but not as good as last night. The Casino surprisingly was not busy tonight but the show was a comedian I believe. We have been rocking a little side to side motion tonight but nothing serious. Going to be going to bed shortly as I have a facial with glycolic peel booked for 8:00am tomorrow in Athens. More to follow later tonight from the Golden Princess enroute to Athens, Greece. Tony
