DGP1111 Posted November 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2006 Below is a cut-and-paste of an internal Carnival Cruise Line e-mail that I was copied on last evening, which shows there's an attempt to still offer the popular Elation ports itinerary even after her repositioning to San Diego in May. True, it requires a longer sailing (seven days instead of the current five) but at least it seems the effort is there to make them available. <<Now, if CCL can just get the ball rolling on taking care of those of us with Elation sailings that no longer exist>> I hope this info helps at least some of you. Have a great day!! . . Although we will no longer offer the 4 & 5 Day cruises on the Elation from Port Canaveral commencing May 12, 2007, we will be offering the opportunity for consumers to experience Grand Turks in the Turks and Caicos and Half Moon Cay, the private island paradise in The Bahamas on 7 Day cruises, on the Carnival Triumph's Eastern Caribbean cruises! CARNIVALTRIUMPH to offer cruises SEASONALLY We will be introducing the highly successful Elation 4-port 7-DayExotic Eastern Caribbeanitinerary that we operated from Miami this yearseasonally, instead of the current Carnival Triumph Eastern Caribbean 7-Day cruise which alternates every other week, asshown below: DAY PORT - - - ARRIVE - - - DEPART Sat. truecruiser Posted November 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2006 of course that makes much better sense than some questions about whether the ports were being dropped completely. i couln't see that. they put over $55M into the pier in grand turk, and they purchased and developed a large portion of little san salvador which they now named half moon cay. cldn't see why they wld buy the land and not at least try to recoup the costs. Mikel1733 Posted November 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2006 It is interesting that in their wording its says "Highly successful" schedule of the Elation and yet they take the ship and move it. What ever happened to the notion of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"?
