Late name change question

Just found out I may not be able to make my DEC 2 cruise now on Zuiderdam due to work problems, dont want to spoil the cruise for the wife, any know off hand how late you can make a name change? I think her mother could go along, and I cant make it again until late next year.

if you have insurance i would think you could cancel and rebook in your mil's name.

I'm not familiar with HAL policies (I'm taking my first HAL cruise next summer) but on Princess, it's free to change the name of the 2nd passenger in the cabin up until final payment, and $50 to change it after final payment up until 3 days before sailing. (The manifest has to be submitted with all names before embarkation.) I would assume that HAL policy is similar. Check with your TA -- they'd know.

HAL Platinum insurance covers cancellation for any reason.

 

Does other third party insurance cover for cancellation due to work requirements? I think there are a number of covered reasons but am not sure work demands would be one of them.

I'm not sure how late you can change a name, but I know that many TAs charge a change fee of anywhere from $25 to $35 (and I think one I saw was $50) for a name change. Hope all works out for you.
