bubbles1209 Posted November 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2006 Could someone please explain to DH for me what penalty phase means? I've tried, but he's just not getting it. Maybe someone else may word it differently or something so he can understand it, maybe I'm wording it the wrong way. Appreciate the help
KroozFoolz Posted November 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2006 The penalty phase is the period of time before your cruise when you will not receive a full refund if you cancel your cruise. For example, you book a 6 day cruise - you can cancel up to 76 days before the departure date and you will not be charged a cancellation fee (by Carnival anyway). After that you are in the penalty phase - 75 days to 30 days, you lose your deposit; 29 to 8 days, 50% of total fare; 7 days or less, 100% of total fare. see #8 - http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Static_Templates/ticket_contract.aspx
KroozFoolz Posted November 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2006  Why was this moved to this section? (Need help using the boards? Ask here!) I could understand if it had been moved to Ask a Cruise Question.
Rare Host Kat Posted November 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2006 Perhaps someone only noticed "explain" & "dh" in the title and thought it was another one of those many, many threads asking what DH, DW, DD, DS, etc. mean. Anyway, the "Getting Started" section in FAQ explains how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum chosen. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in the different forum sections. Since the topic for this thread is not Carnival specific, it really does belong on the Ask a Cruise Question Forum. So, away we go... Kat
