Confused. Is it OK to take TAXIS in Rio?

There's a thread below about taking public transportation in Rio.

 

I would never consider that.

 

But I was planning on taking a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Leblon- just a taxi that was available from the airport. I'm not planning on touring- just heading to the cruise ship from our hotel the following day- again by taxi.

 

Would you do this? I have yet to receive a reply from tour operators for simple airport transfers. Thanks.

If I remember right, there is a counter outside baggage claim for either a pre-paid taxi or a super shuttle like van. I recall taking that to my hotel in Copacabana.

 

The hotel should be able to get you into a taxi to the cruise ship.

Hope you and Debie had a great Thanksgiving and moving into a nice holiday season.

What the h have you two been up to?

Any desire to do a transatlantic with us?

I am meeting up with Mr. Depp this trip. As Bill says, "why don't you two just get a room!"

 

Have a hankering to do that same roundtrip Hawaii again- maybe next fall or winter 08. Where have you been cruising and whats on your agenda? Any desire to repeat that cruise?

 

Be counting on you guys in Rio. Don't make me mad.

Wow too many choices! We have a back to back Alaska booked in Sept. Would change to Hawaii if the price was right.

 

TransAtlantic? Not this year got to get our last two off on thier own so we can play more.
