NCL UK office - just what were they thinking of?

I've just received a mailshot with a copy of the preview brochure for 2005-2006. Other than the Sun's ex-Miami sailings over the winter of 2004-2005 (earliest sail date November 2004), which are already fully described in the current brochure, this preview brochure markets no sailings earlier than May 2005.

In the covering letter, in small print, there's an explanation that because the Jewel is joining the fleet, all the cruises printed on pages 10 to 17 inclusive have been cancelled (these were the Spirit's sailings from Miami and the Dawn's sailings from New York during the winter of 2005-2006). So out of 22 pages of sailing itineraries, more than a third of them have been replaced.

What were they thinking of, sending this out now? Wouldn't they have been better off printing a new brochure first, either with the replacement itineraries or just omitting the cancelled ones? Were they just trying to shift them out of the office by any means possible? <shakes head in disbelief>
