BTW The Old Royal(P&O Artemis), was in port with us today, she is still a Proud Lady! We watched her sail off through our Large Picture window at Dinner as the Sun Set on the Big Pond(She looked lovely all lite up), we watched her for almost an hour, as she got out of sight, she was heading South West, to ? Does anyone know? B

Sounds great! I wish the "old" Royal was still with Princess. I would certainly book a cruise on her!

Bill, I somehow missed that you are going to be on the Emerald the week before we get on in Oct....you lucky dog, you!

David Cole, your CD, was our CD on our Island Princess Hawaii cruise. It was his first or second with Princess after changing from Royal Caribbean. He hosted a CC party complete with champagne in Crooner's. While I was chatting with him, we discovered that we had sailed together before--on the old Nordic Prince to Bermuda in the late 80s. When I got home I pulled out my old cruise documents and pictures, and there he was, before he became a CD he was part of the cruise staff. He probably has all of that old stuff, but if he wants copies of any pics or programs I have, I would be glad to email them to him.

Keep having a great time!!!

Any way you phrase this, lending your card with certain benefits for others to use so they don't have to pay for it is cheating. I don't think that's harsh.

I am a cheater and a "Cookie Monster" as well!;)

Nice Morning on the Golden at Sea on a Westerly course through the North Atlantic! Today is the first of 8 consecutive Days at Sea(not counting a pit stop in Ft Laud) Yippee!!:D We love Sea Days! THe Weather is Warm already, and the Seas light to medium swells,(a little rocking & rolling, but no big deal, although some Newbies are having a little trouble walking very straight! ) We are mostly overcast, with some rain possible up there, with ocassional Sun peaking through. "A Perfect Sea Day in the North Atlantic" We are in the Last Caribe Balcony Cabin on the Portside, it is a Perfect location for this time of year & TA crossing. The Balcony Railing is extra wide, about 4-5' more, & twice as deep as all Caribe Balconies are. The Port side is protected from the North Winds & at the Aft it was lovely out on the Balc, even early this AM, Wow! I was Surprised, didn't think it was going to be so nice on the Balc the first two days, at least.;) The Internet Cafe is Waiting line only of course, after breakfast, and it is nice that they are doing additional staffing of it all Day long until at least 11PM, as a trial, since my long talk with the 1st Purser about this Problem & Customer Service.(Maybe it is just a coincidence, and Maybe not:confused: )

My Best!

Bill

Happy at Sea!:D

Good Morning, Bill

I am going to follow ( as if I haven't been all along lol :D ) along with this part of your cruise very closely. As I said on your Golden Live, I would like to take a TA cruise but have concerns about the possibility of rough seas on the Atlantic. We have never been seasick but don't really enjoy the rough ride. I also love sea days so wouldn't mind all those days at sea during the crossing. You mentioned a pit stop in Ft Laud., which port do you finish your cruise at? Continue to enjoy your cruise. My best to you and Irene,

Mary

But then we all suffer from 'ship-lag' .....the lag portion meaning.......'let's again, go'.......and we all want to go again..now!!!

Joyce, Yes, or better Yet, let's never leave a Princess Ship, except to maybe get on another One! That's Tony's Motto I'm Sure!:D  :D

Yes, I do feel lucky,:) but I also worked Hard all my life, starting at 8 Years old, with cutting lawns & shoveling snow, worked Full Time & went to College Full time(without any $$ Help!) & put in 16 Hour Days in my practice for years, so it's about time, while I can still walk, I'm going to get in all I can.;) "Get All the Gusto", to quote a beer commerical:D

GM Mary, Live from the Golden at Sea across the Big Pond!

We Are going to New Orleans, you can't get off until there, unless you are getting off in Ft Laud, as you can't get back on, "No Shore Leave Allowed":( I think Rough Seas & TAs are overdone!;) We went across in 2004 & it was the Calmest Seas ever, flat as glass, for Days! However, It can really Rock & Roll & Worst, but you can always "Med", and have No Problems, "So Why Worry, Be Happy!" :D Thanks for the Good Wishes, & our Best to You! I will report the Seas in Detail, every Day, several times, & let you know about, the Paxs' experiences I overhear!;) My Advise, "BOOK'Em Dono"!

Hello everyone,

I hope Bill does not take exception to this message but:

I'm sailing with 50 CC including Bill and Irene (not in the same cabin), and I would like to say the entertainment is excellent aboard this ship, a great improvement from previous cruises we have taken with princess. The pianist last night was excellent. The ship is extremely clean.

Anyway I have a message for ladysail2, my wife and I sailed on the Grand in November with you and the other cc. The Golden does not charge for a newspaper like the Grand did. Maybe they're trying out a new profit center (to see how many complaints or money they receive). Also the reason the Grand took all the keys at the end of the cruise was because their computers were down and as they said they could not issue final bills. So this being the case they had to have a way to know who went off the ship so they collected all the cruise cards. A note for next time you get on a Princess ship tell the pursers office you lost your key and they will issue you another one (that way you will have your souvenier).

Hope this helps a little.

Hey Bill,

I have some good friends on your boat. They are John and Brenda Ditore and you cannot miss them because they will be in the casino almost all the time. John is a tall grey haired man that will be at the craps table most of the time. Would you mind telling them hello from BILL COOPER if you see them. Tell them I said good luck and I hope they enjoy the cruise.

Thanks Bill!! Hope you have a wonderful time!!

Hi Dollar Bill........thank you...I suspected the same reason for keeping the cards..it makes sense....sadly....but next time I may have to accidently, of course, lose my card...just in case...who knows when the computers will crash :D

I still haven't received my final statement either...oh well...the bill is paid.

Thank you for taking time out of your relaxing cruise to let me know this...sorry I didn't meet you for longer on the Grand.

Sounds like you and JotWorld are having terrific weather!!! Enjoy it...where I am..it is sunny and calm...but only about 32F

Bill, are you in C742? We are in C734 on the Grand in April. On the deck plans on the Princess website it looks like there is a little open deck next to your cabin. Is that true?

Hi Dobie, Yes C742, but, No that space is all enclosed on the outside and is an Emergency & Employee Stairwell, Sorry. However the Drawing is not correct in that it doesn't show the Extra V Balcony section on the Last

Cabin on both sides, it is an Extra 4-5' of Railing on an already Large Deep Balcony!

The weather has been great today, cloudy & threating, but it just couldn't get it done. Warm, but bouncing & the Seas have picked up a bit.;) White Caps & Swells of about 8 -10'? The Elevators are banging in the shafts:eek: , the Ship is Creaking:eek: , the Bow is Banging, People are walking funny.:D Those "little bags" are in all the restrooms & the forecast was for Moderate to Rough Seas. Winds Northerly 3-5(No big Deal there). See my next Post re major injuries:eek: on the "Black Watch" Ship, also in port with us in Madeira. Later................. Bill

Irene just told me tonight, that she was talking at lunch with someone at the table that said: in Madeira Yesteday the Black Watch Ship in port with us, along with the Artemis(old Royal) was in Very Bad Seas & there were many injuries:( , broken bones:eek: , one lady had her finger cut off in a door:eek:. The Ship was met at the Dock by many Ambulances & they were taken to the Hospital in Maderia. Can anyone reading this confirm this info?

Where was the Black Watch, Near England where they had those Tornadoes near London? It is a small ship, half the size of the Artemis, by my estimate. Where is the Black Watch from? Where does it sail? Maybe it stopped in Maderia as an emergency stop only? Can anyone out there help us with this information? Thanks! Bill
