In terms of passports, the new rule requires those who travel by land or sea to have passports by January 1, 2008 if going to Bermuda while those who travel there by air would have to have passports by January 23, 2007. The only issue is that for any reason should you have to fly back here from Bermuda due to some type of emergency without a passport that would not be an option.

Personally, I would recommend getting one if you plan to be traveling outside the United States in the future. The passports are good for 10 years, serve as excellent identification so if it were me and I didn't have one I would just go ahead and get one sooner rather than later.

We have cruised to Bermuda two times. Both times were with Celebrity but this was 10 years ago. I would go to the Celebrity CC section as I've read some reviews on these cruises. There are also many other lines to choose from. I have also been to Bermuda several times by plane. Bermuda is a wonderful Island, one that I prefer over most Caribbean Islands.

We also enjoy sailing out of NYC and try to spend a couple of days there prior to the cruise.

I would suggest doing your research now and book early. Few ships sail here.If you want to do a true cruise to Bermuda (spnding more than 1 day there) your ships are limited.

The smaller ships go to Hamilton and St. George and the larger ones at Kings warf. Although you can get around by bus and ferry.

NCL has 1 ship from boston (7 day) and 1 ( 7day)than sails from Philly then NY. The Crown hold 1000 people.

Celebrity has 1 ship that leaves from NJ but it was 1.5 time more than NCL and has less occupancy-about 800 people.

May and June are cheeper and are not during the hurricane season.

Royal has a large ship that does a 5 day-less time in Bermuda.

The Dawn also stops in Bermuda for 1 day only.
