Two4Sea Posted December 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2006 Well I wasn’t holding my breath anyway but we got notice today that Spirit’s visit to Derna and Tripoli next May has been cancelled. An inability to obtain a blanket landing visa for all guests has been cited as the reason. The consolation for me is that the Corinth Canal is part of the replacement itinerary. The Alexandria -sea -Derna -sea -Tripoli -Tripoli -sea -Malta portion of the May 7th Alexandria - Rome cruise has become Alexandria -sea- Kusadasi/Ephesus -Mykonos -Piraeus/Athens -Corinth & Itea/Delphi -sea -Malta. I sympathize with those who are B2B on the following segment however as it repeats the Canal on its way back to Athens. Considerately we’ve been told of this a month ahead of being committed by our own final payment date. If you’re checking the website there are typos to catch up in the trip titles, end points and detailed listings but I think it’s actually just the one segment that has changed. Too bad Libya is continuing to miss out on sharing its history with the rest of the world, I was starting to take an interest in it. Bill
