skyw Posted December 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2006 Is a balcony worth it for a short trips to the Bahama's in Jan? WOuld it be too cold at night while at sea to enjoy it? What are your thougts? Trying to see if it is worth the extra $$$money. Normally I would get a balcony but I am not sure on this cruise.
superjerryw Posted December 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2006 I don't normally go to the Bahama's in January but I have been to South Florida in January numerous times and that's only about 100 miles away so the weather should be similar. I can say that there have been January days in Florida when the temperature was in the 40's so that might be too cold for some people to want to sit on their balcony, particularly at sea with a stiff wind blowing. On the other hand, the weather at that time of year can also be suitable for balcony sitting. If money is a concern I would forego the balcony in order to be safe rather than sorry. If the weather turns out to be nice you can always find a nice spot to sit on deck.
cb at sea Posted December 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2006 Yes--there is plenty of open, public deck space. That being said, I won't sail without a balcony, but I also wouldn't go anywhere where there's a chance of cool weather, either! (At least, not spending the kind of $$ a cruise takes!) Same reason I don't go to Vegas in the winter--it's cold!!!
