Taxi to port?

We are on Pearl 12/22 and our flightarrives around 12 noon in miami. we have no transfers booked to or from. Can we just get a taxi to the port and does anyone know the cost? kidrn

You can most definately get a taxi from the airport to the port. I'm sorry I can't remember how much we've paid (it will vary too on traffic).

Taxis from Miami Airport to Port of Miami are a flat rate of $24. That's the price for the cab ride, not per person.

There are 6 of us staying at the Holiday Inn-Port of Miami.

Do you think it would be possible for all 6 of us, plus luggage, to get a cab big enough for the $24? Or will we have to take separate cabs to the hotel from the airport?

cruznlobo, there are minivan type taxis at the airport that may accomodate your group, it really depends on the amount of luggage, all adults or children etc.

the Holiday Inn is not on Dodge Island. Does the port rate apply or is this a ride fm airport to downtown?

good point BJ, it's a flat rate of $24 to the port, not downtown. Just seems that's what most people have been paying these days. The estimated cost for a cab to the downtown hotels is $21.70 ;)

yep - I learned this when I was told that my office on Terminal Island was not in the port of Miami.....silly me, I thought a marine terminal in Miami would be in the port of Miami....

 

in 'taxidom' POM is Dodge Island ... not any of the surrounding activities, much less a hotel. As you note, for downtown the rate will be comparable (if the driver doesn't break the law) .... unfortunately 4 me, it was more...not much but more.
