DISFANS3 Posted December 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2006 We are getting ready to make reservation on the freedom for May 08, first time on RCI for us. Trying to decided what cabin to get Balcony or porthole. I wanted to know if the Balcony cabins have locks on the Balconys doors? My daughter sleep walks sometime, just wanted to be safe. WE have never had a Balcony before. Or has anybody disliked the balcony and went back to porthole or inside cabin?? ANY HELP...THANKS....
cb at sea Posted December 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2006 If the Freedom locks are like the locks on the other ships, your daughter would be pretty safe. Aside from the regular lock (on the door handle) there is a higher "lever lock" that basically "jams" the door closed. It's high up on the back of the door frame, and it took alot of strength (from me) to engage and disengage. Once you've had a balcony, a porthole/window will be a total downgrade! Enjoy! madforcruising Posted December 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2006 All balconie doors have a so called child lock. It´s as cb described high up at the back of door and once locked the door can´t be opened with the regular door handle anymore.
