New Years on Cruise

Just wondering from people who have been on a cruise during new years is it a lot more active for 19-23 yr olds? Late night dances and partying? We're looking at the Vision Of the Seas for 07 New Years and want to know if there will be a lot of people around that age group. Thanks in advance!

We just got back from the Monarch over New Years and were very suprised to see so few children. I thought there would be a lot since I understand the Christmas cruise the week before had 600 or so. There were very few young people and a lot of folks in their late 60s and 70s.

On Saturday from Legend of the Seas. THere were I think, 3 parties going on at the midnight hour however it looked like everyone gathered in the centrum (middle) where the balloon drop was happening. Looked like the party was going to go on for awhile, however we were travelling with our 6 year old and had an excursion booked for the morning so we went to bed just after the balloon dropped.

TOTALLY depends on the ship...on the voyager and freedom class ships there are TONS of kids 18-25. And yes there are plenty of parties and things going on. New Years Eve is my favorite night to be onboard.

There were many in this age group on the Enchantment last week.

We were on the 12/31 Adventure OTS cruise. They had a special menu in the dining room, then at least 4 different parties going on for midnight: Studio B for a Latin party, on deck, in Jesters nightclub, and the big one in the promenade, where we were, which had a big balloon drop and lots of music.

There were 3600 passengers on this cruise, 700 of them classified as children (<18?). But it felt to us like the demographics were very balanced, and in fact we did not feel crowded at all during the cruise except for the NYE party in the promenade, which was packed! Certainly plenty of 21-25s.
