Cost of taxi to hotel in LaPorte/Houston pier?

We are doing the Dream in Feb and will be staying at the Comfort Suites in LaPorte the night before. I am reading about the option of renting a car at Hobby from Enterprise, then leaving it in LaPorte, and we may end up doing that. but how much is the taxi fare?

Should not be too much as the ship terminal is not more than two or thee miles from where you are staying.

But if you meant from Hobby to the hotel by taxi, instead of the rental car, that would be a lot more--rentals are (usually) cheap at Hobby. Also, doesn't the hotel have a van you could use to go from the hotel to the pier? (maybe if you tipped the bellman/driver?).

No, I wasnt' clear. I meant: How much is the taxi from Hobby to LaPorte. Then I can compare it with the cost and hassle of renting a car.

It would be expensive! The rental car is cheaper--hassle is all relative--can't assess that for you. You might also search for "shuttles", that may be cheaper if there are only two of you. Might be easiest in the long run to call the cab companies or hotel directly to ask. You could also click on the "Yellow Pages" button at the top of this page to locate resources.
