Buying alcohol on board

:( I read that you can buy alcohol on the ship and take it to your cabin for a drink, unlike the conventional ships!! (Carnival, RCI, HAL Princess, etc.) Could this be true? Can you bring it in from the ports in the S. Carib.?

I can't answer your question but on HAL Veendam in April I not only could buy alcohol and take it to my cabin, they delivered it. Not the duty free mind you but full price stuff. They had an order form for it on their web site after we booked the cruise. Some prices were good and some were very high. I bought a liter of Crown Royal for $40, it costs $39 at my local ABC. Of course this could have changed by now.

We were out of Genoa on the Xmas cruise and were allowed to purchase spirits from duty free shop and drink in our cabin
