kosmo Posted January 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2007 I wouldn't say they have it completely corrected yet but we only noticed it a few times ... upon embarkation, by the pool once and once or twice getting off/on the ship. We never smelled it on our balcony (Lido) or in any of the dining rooms or entertainment venues. Hopefully they are finally hearing the complaints and working on improving it even more. Just wanted to let those headed out soon know that things are looking up!

Rare patrickmoran Posted January 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Thanks for the update. We sail on the 27th and looking forward to it. I have a couple of questions for you. Did the ship dock or tender in Cozumel? When the ship was at Princess Cays, were the casino and ships open? Which night was Caribean dinner night? Thanks
beachurgh Posted January 14, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Glad to hear that the smell is not that bad. We are booked for the Star March 10th and we are in L259.. Camelia- Posted January 14, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2007 if your cabiin was on the starboard side? This seems to be where the smell was worst..about midship...I'd really love to be able to use my balcony! Thanks again..Camelia
kosmo Posted January 14, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Patrick-- We did not actually stop in Cozumel as the seas were very rough. Prior to the announcement, the Princess Patter mentioned docking at the Punta Langosta berth but when the captain announced the cancellation of the port early Wed morning, he mentioned it was due to unsafe tendering due to rough seas, so ... I don't know if they were going to have to tender due to other ships already being in port or if the cancellation was for other reasons but I can tell you it was quite rough. When in port at Princess Cays, the casino was not open. Boutiques were also closed but Horizon Court and all bars were open as usual. I do not recall the Carribean night so it must have been a night that we hit the buffet. Beachurg-- The Lido deck was GREAT! We are ok with a little rocking but if you are not, it may not be for you as it was noticeably rougher (although we were also at the front) up there. LOVED the privacy of not having any rooms above looking down on us. The halls were very quiet and the location was perfect in relation to Horizon Court, hamburg grill & pizzeria, omelette station, pools, bars and salon. We were able to avoid the slow elevators when heading to any of those places so that was nice. We also enjoyed the covered balcony. I wasn't sure I would as I wanted some sunshine but we still had plenty of that before noon each day. The cover came in very handy the morning we ported in Jamaica during a cold drizzle ... didn't stop me from watching us dock. Bottom line is that I would pick the same spot in a heartbeat but if you are susceptible to seasickness, you might not care for it. HTH! Any other questions, just let me know! kosmo Posted January 14, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Camelia-- I have to admit I always get confused about starboard and port but I can tell you we were on the right side if facing the front of the ship. We were very close to the front -- in fact, I could see the captain clearly on the bridge -- and did not notice the smell from our balcony once (L227). HTH! We were very close to the front -- in fact, I could see the captain clearly on the bridge -- and did not notice the smell from our balcony once (L227). HTH! This is how I learn to remember. The word PORT has four letter. The word LEFT also has four letters. The word STARBOARD has more that four letters so it must be the RIGHT side. I hope this helps.
